In-home consultants drive hybrid vehicles

One of the ways in which we minimize our environmental footprint is through the use of hybrid electric vehicles for our in-home consultant team. As these individuals spend a significant amount of time on the road, it is crucial that we take steps to reduce the emissions associated with their travel. Hybrid electric vehicles are a key solution in this regard, as they utilize both electric and petrol engines to power the vehicle, which results in increased fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.

Installers’ vans have low-emission technology

Similarly, our installation vans are equipped with low-emission technology, such as Diesel Exhaust Fluid, which helps to reduce toxic emissions and comply with the latest Euro 5 emissions standards. This fluid is automatically injected into the vehicle’s exhaust system, where it converts harmful NOx exhaust gases into harmless nitrogen and water. Additionally, these vehicles are programmed to shut off when idling for extended periods, which is particularly useful in traffic-heavy areas such as Auckland.

We also monitor and address wasteful driving behaviours among our drivers, such as speeding and harsh acceleration, and regularly remind our drivers to be conscious of their driving habits.

Manufacturing and Recycling processes

In our manufacturing and recycling processes, we maintain a high standard of cleanliness and order in our state-of-the-art facilities. All waste materials are sorted and disposed of in our numerous recycle bins. Our facilities have been audited and found to be effectively managing factory waste, and we have taken additional steps to reduce waste, such as separating kitchen waste and taking turns recycling materials at home. Additionally, we have implemented a program to reduce fabric waste during the production of our blinds. This program may not be financially logical, but we view it holistically. Reducing fabric waste going to landfills makes up for the increased cost of managing the program.

Our fabric range also includes GREENGUARD-certified, PVC-free, and lead-free options, ensuring that our products are healthier for homes and workplaces. In our move to new premises, we took the opportunity to make improvements to our environmental impact by installing energy-efficient systems and appliances, and identifying and repairing water leaks, in order to reduce our energy consumption and water usage.
