So, you've decided to get some new blinds for your home. A wonderful set of blinds can improve your home's decor, offer you excellent privacy and let you block out or welcome sunlight into your house. But, there are several different kinds of blinds you can select from; how do you know which is best for your home?

Primarily, two of the most popular blinds are roller blinds and venetian blinds. Keep reading if you want to learn more about the great benefits of both of these types of blinds!

what are roller blinds?

Roller blinds are blinds that are made of fabric and set on a roller. Their simple yet effective design makes them incredibly useful and easy to handle, just roll them up or down to put them where you like. These blinds are also relatively cheap when compared to some other kinds, so they're an excellent option if you're shopping on a budget.

Due to their design, they also come in a wide array of different textures and fabrics. So, no matter what kind of decorations you have, you'll undoubtedly be able to find a wonderful new set of blinds that fits your style perfectly.

There are also several types of specialised roller blinds that offer particular benefits. For example, sunscreen blinds are designed to allow a pleasant level of sunlight into your home for natural light, but they block out up to ninety per cent of the sun's harmful ultraviolet light. Or, if you want to block out sunlight completely, you can choose a set of blackout blinds. Blackout blinds are designed to totally keep sunlight from passing through them, and they give you complete privacy in your house.

what are venetian blinds?

Unlike roller blinds, Venetian blinds are made of many aligned slats that tilt to control the level of sunlight that gets into your room. These magnificent blinds have a pleasant look to them that adds a touch of class to any room you put them in.

Venetian blinds are commonly made of wood, synthetic wood or aluminium. Their design makes them relatively easy to clean because all you have to do is wipe down or dust the slats every so often. These blinds will also be very durable and long-lasting when you care for them properly and you buy from a reliable company.

Just like roller blinds, Venetian blinds come in a wide range of colours and materials so you can conveniently get new blinds that look outstanding with the rest of your home's furniture and decor.

Something that venetian blinds offer that roller blinds can't is the option to let light through even when your blinds are down. This is because even if your venetian blinds are fully down, you can still tilt their slats to let in a little bit or a lot of light. Furthermore, this also allows you to have a bit of privacy even if you want some sunlight in.
